A graduate of Rivier College with a Paralegal Certificate from Granite State College, Valerie Hartford has worked with attorneys in a paralegal capacity since 1999. She joined Oertel Koonts Oertel, PLLC, in 2013.

When not assisting clients, drafting legal documents or maintaining reference files, Valerie enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading and traveling. She has one daughter, who is recently married and living in New Hampshire, and one son, a junior civil engineering major at Rochester Institute of Technology.

With experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in Alamance and Guilford Counties since 1994, Dana Newton joined Oertel Koonts Oertel, PLLC in 2009.  She is a graduate of Elon College, with a major in English and double minor in French and Sociology, as well as a graduate of Williams High School.

Dana is a member of Alamance Lutheran Church where she chairs and serves as Council Liaison for the Church Property Committee.  Additionally, she is a Council Member of the church, seated for a three-year term beginning in 2013.

With our firm, Dana assists with cases in Criminal, Small Claims, Civil District, Civil Superior, Business, Federal and Appellate Courts.
